At the end of the 18th century, when the Duchy of Holstein was under the rule of the Danish king, wooden bridges were partly replaced by stone structures.

This semicircular bridge with a large capstone made of carved granite was built in 1793 according to plans by Johann Adam Richter, the state architect. Two rows of ashlars form the parapet, which is protected by massive wheel-guard stones. The old connecting path was relocated to the current road layout in 1900.

The bridge has not been used for road traffic since then. In 1986, the granite bridge was redesigned
in its current form and registered in the Register of Historic Monuments.
