Rowan tincture was already known in these areas. There is a legend that the inventor of the original recipe of Izdebnicki rowanberry was Staszek Prymus, a simple peasant from the vicinity of Wola Radziszowska. The original rowanberry recipe (proportions of ingredients) was later known only to the owners of the Factory.
In 1919, the very prosperous alcohol factory (along with the entire Izdebnice estate) was sold by the Habsburgs, under duress, to the Lviv Credit Land Bank. Otherwise, the Habsburgs could have lost these goods. The bank, in turn, sold the property and the factory in 1922 to Zygmunt Lewakowski, a famous industrialist who continued the production of famous vodkas.
