Church of the Assumption in Wróblewo

Highlight • Religious Site

The church building located on the Motława River is small, built on a rectangular plan with a gable roof. There are stained glass windows in the windows, and on the extension of the façade there is a square tower with a frame structure, the same as the entire building. There is a bell from 1847 in the tower, which was cast from the previous, melted bell from 1591. There is an inscription on it: "Soli Deo Gloria" - "Glory to God alone". A small porch was added on the south side. In the main altar there are four wings from 1591 donated by Urszula Scheweke née Wennenpfennig, made around 1500 by a Dutch painter, which were kept by one of the inhabitants of Wróblewo during the war. They have been preserved to this day and have been in the National Museum in Gdańsk since 1967. In 2009, copies of four boards made as part of the "Wróblew's Painted Wings" project were placed in place of the original ones.
