Famara Cove Beach

Highlight • Beach

This cove is at the southern end of Famara beach. It extends at the foot of the Risco de Famara, on the western coast of Lanzarote. In the area you can find old aboriginal settlements prior to the colonization of the crown.

Famara–La Santa Coastal Path

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

A sandy path that links the two towns in the most fun way possible. It's a fairly flat ride with some sneaky deeper sections of sand to keep you on your toes. The path hugs the coast and you get amazing views of the Atlantic crashing into the rocks. Super fun!

Caleta de Caballo (Horse Cove)

Highlight • Settlement

The town of Caleta de Caballo is actually not a highlight in itself, which you have to see. It is a classic coastal town in the north which is very popular for surfers because of the waves. It was so exciting for me because it totally stood out in the monotony of the landscape in the typical white construction. If you walked along the coast like this in the desert of Playa de Famara, it always sparkled white in the distance. It reminds somehow of the "Schein giant" from Jim Knopf: More impressive from a distance than on site; o)

Wonderful trail along the coast. Quiet and with beautiful open views over the ocean. Be careful with the stones that are scattered here and there. Perfect for the MTB or gravel bike.
