Willa Bazar

This impressive two-story wooden building was built between 1876 and 1880. Covered terraces, arcades, balconies... you can probably guess that it was once a luxury hotel for high-end guests!

The "Zaczątek" café is a great place to stop while walking from the center of Iwonicz Zdrój to the forest amphitheater. The word zaczątek means the initial stage of bread production. You can drink coffee here, eat ice cream, a waffle or a zapiekanka.

Compared to the Polish coast, the prices of ice cream are very attractive: PLN 5.50 or PLN 6.50 for a large scoop, depending on the chosen flavor. The list of available flavors is on the window. On the Baltic Sea, this season, a scoop of ice cream costs PLN 7-9.

To the left of the entrance to the premises, there are places under umbrellas with a view of the Czesław spring and a pirate ship for children.

The café is located in a quieter part of Iwonicz Zdrój, away from the noisy center. You can sit here and talk peacefully, enjoying the smell of the forests surrounding the valley on both sides.

Przymiarki Ridge

Highlight • Viewpoint

Przymiarki is a mountain ridge in the Low Beskids, in the Rymanowskie Hills, between Lubatowa and Rymanów-Zdrój. The ridge has three peaks, with the western Uhliska (611 m above sea level) and the eastern Kopa (640 m above sea level), where the Patryja triangulation tower once stood. The name Przymiarki (626 m above sea level) refers to the central part. Views from the central part include the Strzyżowskie Foothills, the Dynowskie Foothills, Doły Jasielsko-Sanockie, the Bieszczady Mountains, the border range of the Low Beskids, Gniazdo Jawornika, the Rymanowskie Hills and the Dukielski Beskids. The ridge is a popular destination for trips from the health resorts of Iwonicz-Zdrój and Rymanów-Zdrój, offering a panoramic view of the region. Iwonicki Potok flows from the slopes of Przymiarki.

John Paul II Forest Avenue

Highlight • Trail

Aleja Jana Pawła II is an alternative access to the church and the spa center, bypassing the main street of the city - Aleja Słoneczna, which runs in parallel. Vehicle traffic on Aleja JPII is forbidden, thanks to which its recreational values are preserved. Here you can watch waterfowl on a small lake, enjoy the smell of the forest and venture into side paths under a dense umbrella of tree branches.

Unfortunately, the section of the road (about 5.5 km) marked on the map as a straight line did not save because my phone battery died. 😭😭😭 In total, I covered about 16 km from 12:30 to 16:50, stopping in the meantime to take pictures. The route is difficult, because mostly uphill, a bit flat and the last 4.5 km downhill …
