We took the lift up to the castle, and the view from up here was very beautiful. We walked down and came through an alley with lots of flowers. We strolled through the town and came back along the promenade.

If you're in Alicante, it's definitely worth walking out of the city, first through the narrow streets and then slowly up one of the paths to the Castillo Santa Bárara. The path is easy to walk, despite the incline and some rocky or steep sections. Sturdy footwear is recommended, however. The castle and the old ramparts are free to enter …

From the harbor, we went to Alicante Castle, which is free.
Then we walked through the beautiful alleys to the harbor.
The city is dominated by 70s high-rise buildings, but it still has its own charm 😊

Found nice sights especially the Castle, Santa Cruz neighborhood and Espania street.

Alicante City Tour
With a lot of luck with the weather—it drizzled during the morning ☕ as well as during the merienda at the end—we went on a city tour, including a climb to the monumental Castillo Santa Barbara! Pretty alleys, interesting shops, and a fantastic panoramic view of the city from the Castillo, which is built 270° around the …

Excursion Alicante.
Since the port is right in front of the city, you can just walk there.
Unfortunately the elevator to the castle didn't open until 10am. So we're on the beach first. The water is still pleasantly warm.
Then we looked at the castle and the city.

Alicante, without a plan, just happened. It was like casually rolling dice and hitting straight sixes the entire time :)
The highlight was, of course, the castle, which overlooks the entire area. And then there's the fun of catching seagulls, graffiti, and the final shots of rainy mountains.
