View of Vrbnik and the Wine Valley

The ride on this "trekking route" is sometimes quite demanding because of the loose, sometimes VERY coarse gravel. This route is not really suitable for touring bikes. Sometimes pushing passages are recommended - at least for the cautious (reasonable?!) cyclist.

Kanić Hlam Singletrack

Highlight • Trail

Between the refuge and the church, there's a hiking trail that can also be ridden as a singletrack. It's very narrow and steep in places. Ride carefully, as there are often many hikers along the trail.

Descent Trail to Baška

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

... you should always have 3 liters of water here in midsummer ... and do not be irritated by the griffon vulture, which sometimes circles over you - it only follows its instinct;)

Highlight • Viewpoint

Shouldn't be left out. Very good place for breaks or as a trail base. Also highly recommended for extended gravel tours. After the ride, a glass of Žlahtina (white wine grown here) is a good ending.

That's how mountain biking works. Steep, dirty, strenuous
Unfortunately only traveling today due to the weather. The 2 days of rain on the route - interesting. To follow, stay away from cross bikes or gravel. Or you really know what you're doing.
If this really is the original race track - absolute respect to the drivers. The thing at racing …

October 29, 2024,Croatia Islands. DAY 4. KRK Island. Baska to Risika loop.

Second half of this was wow. On top of the plateau, very remote and super wild. Coming down on hiking trail was amazing. Water was cold. Only the Germans were swimming! And me. 🙂

wonderful ride with amazing views. The return from the plateau is fantastic. The path that goes down to Baska, apart from the first 50 meters, is all cycleable, wide enough and well maintained.
