Glen Wood Waterfalls

Highlight • Viewpoint

From Monmouth to Chepstow via the majestic Tintern Abbey, the Wye Valley forms the border between Wales and England. This border has shaped the land, with castles, towers, abbeys, market towns and industrial heritage dotting the landscape. Great food and plenty of activities, from canoeing to valley walks.

Tintern Wireworks Bridge

Highlight • Monument

An interesting old railway bridge which I believe took industrial rail across the river to join Chepstow to Monmouth. The surrounding countryside is stunning and in the local area is Tintern Abbey as well as a sculpture park and other interesting buildings.

Tintern Abbey

Highlight • Historical Site

Beautiful abbey. Lots of pubs and the like nearby for food but I recommend the Filling Station cafe. The owners are keen cyclists and you can borrow their track pump and buy spare tyres and inner tubes, as well as your flat white and cake!

The Filling Station Café, Tintern

Highlight • Rest Area

Great little cycling cafe, always busy 👍.
Outside and inside seating.

Local Honey Stand at Wye Valley

Highlight • Structure

Bought some beautiful local honey!

St Mary's Church, Tintern

Highlight • Historical Site

The last two fields before the church, are crossed diagonally (from Tintin). Komoot seemed to suggest walking between two of the farmer’s buildings, but the path actually starts to the just North of the first building.
