Martin Crawford's Forest Garden, Dartington

Renowned agroforestry expert Martin Crawford planted his 2-acre (0.8 ha) forest garden in Dartington in 1994. Now, it's grown into a fully functioning food forest with thousands of edible plants. The plants and trees all work in harmony to create a biodiverse forest that's robust against weather changes and pests – fascinating!

The garden is used for research, but you can also have a look around. Martin runs tours throughout the summer which I definitely recommend, but make sure you book online beforehand.
