September 25, 2022,Sunday Run to Snaith
A nice, quiet, easy going mainly road run out this morning. Sounds like a hangover cure, and possibly is after a week of excessive but very nice, Greek food and beer 🍻
Good to get back on the bike 😀
A hard going ride considering how flat it is, simply due to the lingering cold I've had the last few days. One of those that doesn't do much, just hangs around giving an occasional cough, a bit of a sore throat and runny nose but saps the energy levels. A nice morning to be out though.
The bike was in the shop for a few days last week. Despite only being about 9 months old, a few thousand pretty rough, mainly off road miles seem to have taken their toll on the rear hub bearings. So, while in for a new set of cartridge bearings, they also checked/cleaned/regreased the other main bits - front bearings, headset, …

A nice ride out on the road bike this aft, a fair bit cooler than the last couple of outings - back to the long sleeves again but all good.
First ride in 2 weeks after pulling my back (bizarre thing is I don't even know how, so I must be officially 'old' now!)
Its not 100% by any means with a few twinges felt but the quiet roads and mellow terrain out my way means its quite feasible to do without risking too much so I'm chalking it down …
Its quite incredible to see the scale while out riding, the sheer amount of land (and roads!) under water. Biblical wouldn't be an exaggeration with whole areas looking like you're at the coast. I could do with some cleats attaching to a pair of wellies for out on the bike as it's practically impossible at the minute to avoid riding …
