Qyite a steep desend. Thought it best to slow down and pace myself, due to the following 26degree heatwave

Invermoriston’s Thomas Telford bridge makes a spectacular crossing over the River Moriston falls. Nestled amidst a breathtakingly-beautiful landscape, the bridge is a much-loved spot and is a great place to watch salmon leaping upstream. Built in 1813, the bridge was part of the main road between Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus until a new bridge was built to replace it in the 1930s.

Highlight • Viewpoint

Spectacular place with fast-flowing falls and beautiful river set within a wooded gorge. The bridge was first built in 1813, forming part of the main road between Drumnadrochit and Fort Augustus, until being replaced by the current bridge in the 1930s. Great spot to watch salmon leaping.

The 2012 Summer Olympics were held in London and the torch was carried past Invermoriston in the foreground. On 9 June 2012 it reached the Highlands and was carried through Glencoe, Ballachullish, Fort William and Spean Bridge, then the A82 to Fort Augustus, Invermoriston and Drumnadrochit and then to Inverness.
