Confraternity Church (San Damiano Macra)

Highlight • Religious Site

Church of the Confraternity of Mary the Assumption - it is located above the provincial road, reachable with a short detour. Beautiful church, with a facade somewhat sacrificed among the buildings, but with interesting frescoes. Beautiful bell tower that stands out from afar. Worth a detour.

San Salvatore Chapel (Macra)

Highlight • Religious Site

Alongside the provincial road of the Maira Valley, on a dirt track that was probably the ancient road, a beautiful dry stone chapel, with a pronaos supported by two cylindrical columns - a typical construction feature of the Maira Valley. Immersed in greenery and easy to reach, a nice place for a stop.

Lottulo – Adrecchio Hamlet

Highlight • Settlement

Lottulo was a municipality in the past, then it was aggregated to San Damiano Macra. The Adrecchio hamlet, the main agglomeration of the former municipality, takes its name from the local "Adrech", derived from the Latin "ad rectum", which indicates the side of the mountain favorably exposed to the Sun (in Italian: "a solatìo", in Latin "ad rectum solem").
The hamlet features several points of interest: the church of Saints Vincenzo and Anastasio, with in front of it, across the road, a beautiful small square where photographs with captions of the main tourist interests (especially in terms of hiking and cycling) of the valley are displayed like an open-air brochure. Beautiful fountain with drinkable (and cool) water, and not to be missed is an ancient house with a beautiful fresco also of ancient date. Scattered along the provincial road, several other ancient houses with interesting facades and portals. Nice place for a stop.

Small church in the hamlet of Pontebedale in Dronero. Classic construction with a frescoed neoclassical facade and a beautiful bell tower. It is located on the road from Cartignano to Tetti, which offers several very scenic views. It's worth stopping by, if only to travel that road.

A nice walk in the woods and in the villages of San Damiano and Celle Macra. Better to go the other way around. The road from Celle to the valley floor is quite bumpy and it is best to follow it uphill.
