Sheepfold at Tweelbäker Lake

The Tweelbäker See is basically a retention basin near Wüsting, so it is located in the southeast of Oldenburg and was created with the construction of the A 28 and A 29 federal motorways in 1976-1978.
The Tweelbäker See is not an official bathing lake. On the west bank you will find a mooring of the Oldenburg Yacht Club. Opposite, on the east bank, you can enjoy beach volleyball on a sand court. Also nearby, the Tweelbäke Citizens' Association runs a village community facility with a barbecue hut and boules court. On the north-eastern bank of the lake there is an old sheepfold, which is a reminder of the former agricultural use of the heathland. The walk around the lake takes around 4 kilometers and is used by joggers, walkers and cyclists.
