Since we were already in the vicinity of Düsseldorf today, we decided to take a short walk along the Düssel in the Neandertal. From a tourist point of view, a lot has happened here. The paths have been improved and many additional information boxes have been set up.

Today we made a detour to the Neanderthal Museum and combined the visit with a hike to the game reserve. Both were really worthwhile. On the way we discovered that there are really many beautiful hiking trails here and so we decided to come back sometime and hike further in the area.

On our last day we were able to sleep in again because the Neanderthal Museum, our destination today, didn't open until 1000 a.m. Back to the roots, a journey to the beginnings of humanity, so to speak, that was the plan for our last venture before the journey home. The museum absolutely convinced us, a very nice multimedia permanent exhibition, …

Advent trip to the land of the Neanderthals. After a visit to the museum, we climbed the new observation tower with a view of the cave. The tower is barrier-free and equipped with augmented reality. Great destination. Then the sun came out and tickled our noses. Finally, we completed the big tour around the Ice Age wildlife enclosure.
