Highlight • Viewpoint

An excellent spot to sit before the crowds arrive later in the day and, early in the morning, the area is full of bunnies.

Pill Path and View of Clifton Suspension Bridge

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

The Pill cycling path is a great way to explore the city of Bristol and its surroundings. The path is well-maintained and mostly flat, making it a perfect option for cyclists of all levels. The path runs along the River Avon, providing stunning views of the city and the surrounding countryside. Along the way, you'll pass by a variety of interesting sights, including the Clifton Suspension Bridge, Leigh Woods, and the village of Pill.

If you're looking for a challenging ride, you can start at the Ashton Gate stadium and cycle all the way to Portishead. This route is about 15 miles (24 km) long and takes around 3 hours to complete. If you're looking for a shorter ride, you can start at the Create Centre and cycle to Pill. This route is about 5 miles long and takes around an hour to complete.

No matter how long or short your ride, you're sure to enjoy the scenery and the fresh air on the Pill cycling path.

Avon Riverside Path (Bristol to Pill)

Highlight (Segment) • Viewpoint

Linking Bristol to Pill, this sometimes gravelly, sometimes rooty and mucky trail runs alongside the River Avon and is perfect for riders, walkers and joggers. Take more care during peak times and beware this is usually flooded with big puddles all through the winter!

Feels really peaceful here. Having descended Chapel Pill lane its a nice place to stop and watch people fishing.

Portbury Stone Bridge Cycle Path

Highlight (Segment) • Bridge

Really well surfaced fine gravel route between Pill and Portishead. It does involve some blind, loosely surfaced, sharp corners; therefore I am glad it's usually quieter than you would expect (I'm not Rad enough clearly). Most of it circumnavigates acres of land where they seem to farm Japanese cars. You can see the newborn of most marques here.

Portishead Marina

Highlight • Structure

Portishead Marina is a popular boating spot located on the River Severn. Surrounded by colourful buildings, the marina feels more like the South of France on summer days. Around the Marina, you will find various restaurants, bars and cafes – a great place to stop for lunch or a coffee.

View of Bristol's Colourful Houses

Highlight • Settlement

This is a perfect spot to view a row of Bristol's iconic colourful houses.

The exact origins of the colourful houses in the Bristol neighborhood remain uncertain, but one theory suggests that sailors returning from sea painted their homes for maritime purposes.
