This square is full of life. In addition to the bronze statue of the artist Philippe Brodski, the place is full of monuments to discover, such as the large Corten steel arch.

It is also on this square that the D'jean and the D'jeanne, the two giants of Virton, dance every year on July 1st, in front of jubilant residents.

Old Buzenol Railway Station

Highlight • Monument

This station was located on the old railway line 155 which linked Marbehan to Ecouviez (F) via Virton.
It was decommissioned in 1938. The abolition of the line followed a good ten years later, in 1951.
It was converted into a nature center thanks to a professor from Ghent, Doctor Van Oye, a nature enthusiast, who rented the building to the SNCB.
In the 1960s, it developed to become the Center de Buzenol, an educational service of the Royal Institute of Natural Sciences of Belgium, under the leadership of Edmond Fouss, promoter of Gaume heritage and founder of the Gaume Museum in Virton .
This project even gained momentum thanks to the former mayor of Ethe Elie Deworme in the years that followed. A new building was built between the old station and the Farm of Bâr to allow the accommodation of green classes.
Currently, this center is incorporated into the educational structure of the Ecole Normale de Virton.

Servais Lahage Mural

Highlight • Monument

La fresque Servais in Lahage is a mural inspired by the work of Jean-Claude Servais, a well-known Belgian cartoonist. The fresco was made by Yves Piedboeuf, another artist from the region. The fresco shows a scene from the album “La belle Coquetière”, which takes place in Lahage. You can admire the fresco on the facade of Lahage12 station.

The fresco is part of the Servais trail, a route that connects several frescoes and statues by Jean-Claude Servais. The Servais trail passes through several municipalities in the province of Luxembourg, such as Tintigny, Virton, Florenville and Chiny3. It is a wonderful way to discover the region and enjoy the art of Jean-Claude Servais.
