Weitsee

Highlight • Lake

Offers a great swimming opportunity with plenty of places to lie down and a beautiful view. There is a car park about 100 metres away and there is also a direct connection to a cycle path.

Lake Förchensee

Highlight • Lake

The Forchensee invites you to linger, especially when the sun is shining. The play of colors in the water, depending on the position of the sun, is very impressive.

Tyrolean Ache

Highlight • River

At times, the Tiroler Ache does overflow its banks. No wonder, as it drains a very large Alpine region from Kitzbühel to the Chiemsee.

The circular route first follows a section of the Achental cycle route. Unfortunately there is no cycle path between Oberwössen and Reit im Winkel. Then it continues on the Chiemgau cycle path to Siegsdorf on the ice age round and finally back on the Aachen eights.

The weather is perfect 🌞 my wife and daughter are going to Chiemsee to hit the shops, and I'm out on the streets 😄🤣

A casual ride on the asphalt is fun now and again. The grater only works on weekdays because the roads are too busy on weekends and holidays.

We took advantage of the summer temperatures for a long-planned bike ride to the "Windbeutelgräfin" (Countess of Windbeutel) in Ruhpolding. We started in Grassau on Lake Reifinger. From there, we went via Marquartstein, Unterwössen, the Maserer Pass to Reit im Winkl, Seegatterl, Förchensee, the Chiemgau Arena, and Fuchsau to the historic farmhouse café "Windbeutelgräfin," first mentioned in 1553. There, we …
