The Kromme Nolkering is a flood lock located in the Heusdensch Canal between Heusden and Wijk en Aalburg. The lock was completed in 2002, after very high water levels occurred in 1995 and it turned out that the dikes along the Heusdensch Kanaal and the Dammed Maas offered insufficient protection.
