Mariazellerbahn

One of the few remaining narrow-gauge railways in Austria. It runs between St. Pölten and Mariazell, making it ideal for excursions—from pilgrimages to Mariazell, to mountain hikes on the Ötcher, to cycling along the railway line.

The train runs fairly frequently, tickets can be purchased on the train, and there's plenty of space for bicycles. If you want to be safe, you can also reserve your bicycle space in advance—not through the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), but through the Mariazell Railway's own online shop.
