Glanegg Castle Ruins

Highlight • Castle

The Glanegg castle ruins are worth a visit. A family trip with smaller children is a good option, as the castle can be easily reached with a short walk of around 20 minutes and a rather steep climb. Parking spaces are available on the main road or directly at the castle near the bus stop next to the castle.

The opening times from June 1st, 2020 to September 30th, 2020 are currently:
Thursday to Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Guided tours take place at 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
The castle is closed in rainy weather.
Admission: 3, - EUR for adults and children / adolescents are free

You can call 0664-8255940 inquire about the tours with Ms. Melanie Feldkircher and / or register. But is not necessary.

The castle association has beautifully restored the castle ruins in the last 24 years and now offers guided tours. Since the area is not very busy, we had an individual two-person tour and had a nice chat with the tour guide over a small drink. You can visit the renovated castle chapel, the vaults and the keep with the tour. There are also many nice stories (about a hermit in the castle, a suspected secret passage ...).

The castle regularly hosts events and can also be rented for celebrations etc. There are several very nice rooms and weatherproof outdoor areas at the castle.

There is a castle beer and a castle wine.

Talhof in Carinthia

Highlight • Rest Area

The Talhof is located in the middle of Carinthia - the perfect starting point for an active holiday with your bike. From here you can explore the surrounding valleys, cycle to the Ossiachersee or make a really long day trip and circumnavigate the Wörthersee. Also for mountain bikers there are wonderful trails in the surrounding mountain forests and exciting tours to nearby peaks. Hikers on the other hand take advantage of the countless hiking trails, visit picturesque lakes, hike from one alpine pasture to another or climb to the nearby peaks.

For bathing fun, you do not have to climb the bike, the yard has its own swimming lake. The Talhof has three different apartments for self-catering and straight kids will be happy about ponies and horses. In addition to cows and pigs live here also some friendly goats, who also have fun on a trip on a leash.

All information can be found at urlaubambauernhof.at/hoefe/talhof.
