Mount Stirling

Highlight • Summit

Mount Stirling juts out of the High Country of Victoria, standing at 1,749 metres above sea level. It's home to the Mount Stirling Alpine Resort, a winter skiing and snowboarding destination. In summer, the mountain is teeming with bushwalkers, mountain bikers, and peak baggers looking to climb to the highest point. The summit has stunning panoramic views of the surrounding alpine, marked with a trig station. Mount Stirling is also culturally significant to the Taungurung people, who have long regarded the area as sacred for centuries.

Cricket Pitch Shelter

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Cricket Pitch Shelter can only be reached by bushwalking, and its unique green paint job is hard to miss. It's got a built-in cooking bench, a washing-up sink, solar-powered lighting, and adjacent composting toilets. During the winter snow season, the whole vibe changes as it transforms into the comfortable commercially operated glamping experience. Mount Stirling Alpine Winter Camp is the mountain’s only ski-in, ski-out accommodation, with a massive central communal teepee complete with a warming potbelly stove and dining sets. Around the central structure are seven glamping tents built on raised, insulated wooden platforms equipped with camping stretchers and warm blankets.

Razorback Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Razorback Hut is a historic and rustic mountain hut nestled in the Alpine National Park of Victoria on the Razorback Trail. This hut was built in the early 20th century and still serves as a cosy but no-frills shelter for overnight stays during multi-day treks. Inside are bunk beds and a fireplace, but no food, water, or sleeping gear.
