This old barracks at Puckpool is an interesting place to run through if you are running along the coast between Ryde and Seaview. In complete contrast to its history as a mortar battery, a children's playground now sits within it.

Unveiled on June 29, 1991, it features a bronze bas-relief plaque commemorating HMS Sirius, the flagship and principal naval escort of the First Fleet that sailed for Australia from the nearby Motherbank anchorage on May 13, 1787.
