The Queen’s Scottish residence of Balmoral Castle
is impressive enough by itself, but the wooded
hills around it are dotted with spectacular cairns.
Most were established by Queen Victoria and
are dedicated to her loved ones, including her
beloved husband Prince Albert and most of her
grandchildren. They are linked by walking trails and
each one offers a commanding view over the estate and Royal Deeside.
