Enclosed Double Track

Highlight • Forest

This track seems to be narrow due to the tree growing inwards on both sides of the track. It does add shelter from the wind. The surfaces take effort to ride over

Plodda Falls Hiking Trail

Highlight • Waterfall

Nicely laid out and maintained trail especially from the car park to the falls. Thereafter it is still well defined and signposted with either the green or white trail clearly marked.

The gravel car park is quite adequate (might be a stretch at the height of summer) in early September when I visited. It is reached from the village of Tomich where the single track road turns into a single track dirt track, Forestry Commission style, for the final three miles to the car park. Drive steady!
The map gives all the detail, history, trails information you could wish for, and even a free F.C. map of the trails in the Glen Affric area to take away. Choice!

Douglas Fir Trail

Highlight • Trail

Surrounded by large Douglas Fir trees, this woodland trail forms part of the Tweedmouth trail from the Plodda Falls carpark. Named after Lord Tweedmouth who created the forest. These fir trees are not native to the UK, however they are now protected, whilst the remaining non native trees in the Glen are being replaced with native ones.
