Lambley Viaduct

Highlight • Bridge

A viaduct spanning the River South Tyne, Lambley Viaduct is an elegant bridge with a series of arches. 260 meters (850 feet) long, the bridge carried the Haltwhistle to Alston railway from 1852 until 1976, hauling coal and lead from the mines. It is thought that Georgia Barclay Bruce designed the viaduct. It is a grade II listed structure.
