Pretty unrelenting climb when ridden into Hinton Blewett (ie West to East), one of the toughest I’ve found in the area and that’s saying quite a bit.

Road surface is quite poor and tends to be quite muddy/leafy/green according to weather and season meaning a) it doesn’t make for a fun descent and b) that push to get out the saddle might not be worth the effort since the back wheel is not unlikely to slip.

Some of us see the above as fun, so thought it’d be worth flagging up!

Just outside the village of Hinton Blewett and on the Limestone Link footpath, pause at the bench here to enjoy the excellent views across the countryside. Patchwork fields, big skies and distant hills make this a wonderful snack stop on a clear day. The viewpoint looks north west across the Chew Valley and you can glimpse the edge of the Mendip Hills due west.

Currently serving cold takeaway beers etc from their farm shop - ideal place to ride out to!

Great views across to Chew lake. best ridden down hill. A double track that flows really well...a little rocky in places so watch your speed if not on an mtb.
