If you have time on your tour of the Long Mynd, try to take in one of the two great trails that start from the gliding club – Yaspel Bank and Minton Batch ('batch' is the local term for a steep-sided valley). Both take you to the tiny hamlet of Minton and are hugely enjoyable (though Minton Batch is probably the easiest to ride back up!)

Minton Batch Singletrack

Highlight (Segment) • MTB Park

Minton Batch is alleged to be one of the great descents in England, and it's not hard to see why. Gorgeous, fast flowing singletrack, with an occasional smattering of rocks.

There are even natural catch berms here and there on some of the sharper corners. It's not particularly technical (unless you wade into one of the aforementioned rocky areas a bit too hot), but it's undeniably fantastic. A slice of old-school fabulousness. The descent, as ever, is popular with walkers, so do take care!
