Whimple Village Centre

Highlight • Rest Area

At the heart of village of Whimple is a village square and a Norman Church, St Mary's. Although fairly small, there are two pubs, a village shop and a post office.

The tradition of Wassailing is enjoyed in Whimple on 17th January and it attracts many spectators. Wassailing is a pagan practice of visiting orchards on the old twelfth night to sing songs and make a lot of noise to the fruit trees to ward off bad spirits and to please the spirits of the fruit trees.
