Crawford Bridge over the River Stour

Highlight • Historical Site

Of medieval origin but widened in the 1800s, this stone bridge spans the River Stour at Spetisbury and is a lovely place to pause (in one of the cut-waters) and admire the river as it ambles south.

The village of Witchampton is a picturesque setting, with a church dating back to the 15th century.

About a kilometre north of Witchampton stands the archway of Crichel House, an imposing stone archway.

This is a stunning, almost art row of trees, quiet road and not too steep if you are going up. Links to many quiet back roads.

Ashmore Village and Pond

Highlight • Settlement

A central pond, thatched cottages and a sense of peace, Ashmore is a wonderfully pretty village to pedal through. It's actually the highest in Dorset – too high for time …

View of Hod Hill

Highlight • Viewpoint

Was nice to see the Hod from a distance. On a hike route I'd done Hambledon and Hod on same day, in really bad conditions. worth a go up there

Nice easy going route from Blandford to Sturminster Newton, running along old railway line. Very easy going gravel.
