Woodland bridleway and stream along Wellow Brook

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Possible to travel in both directions, this is a pretty route starting in a grassy field (in either direction) with a short singletrack woodland in the middle, where there is a beautiful stream flowing into Wellow Brook.

Rocky Ascent and Descent

Highlight • Climb

Really loose large-rocky surface. No access to bike path.

Tip by

3.69 km

Probably best travelled East to West but possible vice versa. Hilly with roots and rocks in part but with an easier section on the Eastern section navigating around a field. I travelled West to East and had to indulge myself in a bit of hike-a-bike.

Wellow Brook Lane

Highlight • River

A lovely little lane runs aside Wellow Brook, a small river that feeds into the Avon. The countryside here is quiet and picturesque – synonymous with Somerset. It's a great place to cycle!

Wellow Ford Stone Bridge

Highlight • Historical Site

Pretty little ford in village of Wellow. Careful after a storm as the water can get fast and high

Muddy Trail in Littleton Wood

Highlight (Segment) • Forest

This a lovely wooded section of trail - however be warned it is used by 4x4 vehicles, with the inevitable consequences of some deep wheel ruts in places.

Norton Lane Gravel Road and Ford

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Great gravel road, best travelled West to East (downhill). Where the road joins Norton Lane it finishes with a small ford (Norton Brook), but there is a small footbridge.
