Boscastle Harbour

Highlight • River

Boscastle is a beautiful village and 100 years ago was the only harbour along a 40 mile stretch of the Cornish coast. It was an incredible busy port as until the late 19th Century, there was no railway into Cornwall so Boscastle was the main commercial and transport hub in the area.

The shape of the valley which runs down to the sea gives Boscastle its unique and stunning charm and is very popular with visitors.

Aside from the usual pubs and cafes, there is a also a Museum of Witchcraft and Magic which provides a history of British magical practice.

Tintagel Castle

Highlight • Castle

The village of Tintagel will forever be associated with the nearby castle, which is dramatically situated on its own island peninsula and has links to Arthurian legend.

There are plenty of amenities in the village, with cafes, pubs, bakeries and places to stay. Tintagel's Cornish name, Tre war Venydh, means 'Village on the Mountain'.

Port Isaac Village

Highlight • Settlement

Port Isaac is a lovely, quaint fishing village on the north coast of Cornwall. You have probably heard of it as it features in the Doc Martin TV series and is the home of the famous sea shanty group the Fishermen's Friends.

Along this rugged part of the coast, Port Isaac provides a sheltered port for fishing boats and once a bustling port.

Port Isaac

Highlight • Historical Site

Typical Cornish fishing village that has become well known due to location filming of British television series 'Doc Martin'. Quaint little village with typically steep roads into main square. Sample a famous Barnecutts pasty from local bakery or Cornish Cider from one of several bars. The climb back out is a test, especially if the pasties and cider proved too tempting :)
