Oxford Road (Gravel between 41st and Ouray)

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Oxford Road is a smooth gravel road that runs east to west with many popular gravel and pavement roads intersecting it. This particular stretch of road is also a part of the Boulder Roubiax, a popular road/ gravel race in Boulder. The Roubaix actually starts on the western terminus of Oxford as is runs into N. 41st Street.

N. 39th/41st Street (Gravel)

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

This scenic segment of smooth, well-graded gravel connects Oxford Road with Nelson Road. This is a great stretch of road with rolling hills and scenic views of the foothills and to the often-snowcapped mountains the west and Table Mountain and rural farms and houses to the east.

This short gravel road is a nice way to connect Niwot Road to Oxford Road, where the Boulder Roubaix starts and ends, and other very popular gravel roads between Boulder and Hygiene. You pass by some beautiful farms and get great views of the foothills to the west.

As Niwot turns into Neva Road, you get fantastic views of Haystack Mountain to the east, a small, but prominent hill that resembles a rounded haystack, and of the foothills to the west. You are surrounded by picturesque farms, and on the Haystack side in particular, there are frequently very cute cows out grazing.
