Probably from the early Middle Ages to the fire of 1383, the rather large castle of the Bucheggberg counts and their descendants stood on the hill. Büren Wooden Bridge

The current wooden bridge was only inaugurated in 1991. Its predecessor fell victim to an arson attack on April 5, 1989. During the internment of the French Bourbaki army in 1871 (Franco-Prussian War), it even served as a stable. At that time, over 100 horses and mules were crammed together.
