View of Stäubenfall

Highlight • Viewpoint

You can enjoy the view of this waterfall from the Unterschächen driveway - the road leads up here along the steep side of the valley and near the guardrail you sometimes feel like you are in the cockpit of an airplane on a bike ....

View of Schächtental

Highlight • Viewpoint

Magnificent views of the Swiss mountains. The snow stays on the high peaks until midsummer and colorful alpine flowers grow alongside the path. The large boulders lying in the meadow are ideal as a seat for a break.

Hotel Klausenpass

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Newly built in 2021! The hotel is insanely beautiful. High up, almost at the top of the pass, right where the view is most spectacular. All around is a series of peaks, there are alpine pastures, wonderfully wild nature.
For 120 years, the predecessor towered over the Schächental: the Art Nouveau Hotel Klausenpasshöhe. The new Hotel Klausenpass is a few meters further down. It impresses in a different way. There are the large window fronts - wow, the wide view! And a lot of daylight comes into the interior of the hotel.

The building blends perfectly into the landscape. It is an angular cube, concise, with clear lines. The main materials, stone and wood, take up elements of the environment: rock and the sparse high-alpine vegetation. Yes, the Hotel Klausenpass is a real gem.
The host family is very friendly, the kitchen and service are great, and the rooms are stunningly beautiful!

Like a sentinel, the church sits enthroned on a plateau in Bürglen. It was built in 1683/84 and the red-covered spire can be seen from afar. On the tower facade there are paintings depicting St. Christopher and Wilhelm Tell. A visit to the interior is also worthwhile.

The sun is shining as if it had done nothing else its entire life...
Wonderful morning, wonderful breakfast, wonderful air. Only 600 meters up to the top of the pass. Slow climb over serpentines, surrounded by exciting mountain ranges: steep rock faces flank the pass road like walls. Gradient is doable, 10% at most. The loud sports cars are annoying …
