Hard road ride. Very good fitness required. Mostly well-paved surfaces and easy to ride. The starting point of the route is accessible with public transport.

Grosse Scheidegg Ascent from Grindelwald

Highlight (Segment) • Mountain Pass

From the town limits of Grindelwald, this is no longer a public road, but merely a farm track. This allows you to ride here undisturbed by car traffic. However, on my tour on April 30, 2018, I had to abandon the route due to large snowfields.

Grosse Scheidegg

Highlight • Mountain Pass

The Grosse Scheidegg offers a wonderful starting point. From here you can set off in three directions by bike or with your hiking boots.

Schwarzwaldalp

Highlight • Mountain Hut

In the small hamlet you will find a hotel, a hostel with a restaurant and an old sawmill. On a hike you can spend the night here well or stop. The PostBus also stops here, so you can even get on or off by public transport.

Solid Rubber Vol 1 - Checkpoint 2

Highlight • Rest Area

In the Rosenlauital between Meiringen and the Große Scheidegg lies at 1,500 meters above sea level. the Black Forest Alp. Our second checkpoint is at the Chalet-Hotel Scharzwaldalp, which offers an impressive view of the surrounding Alps.

UNESCO World Heritage Site really says it all. One of the most wonderful nature reserves on earth! My tip: Continue the tour to Grosse Scheidegg! The climb after Schwarzwaldalp is steep, reaching 18%, but the magnificent view of the majestic mountain panorama of the Eiger, Mönch, and parts of the Jungfrau massif makes up for it. And don't forget the Engelhörner! The only downside to this route is the extremely annoying traffic that trudges up the mountain on the narrow toll road!

Aare Gorge

Highlight • Gorge

From the serpentines you can see the deep gorge of the Aare. It's better if you park your bike and walk through the gorge.

View of Rosenlaui Glacier

Highlight • Viewpoint

Very hard pass, but worth it! The landscapes are magical. Traffic is almost non-existent (the pass is closed to traffic).
