This beautiful, difficult mountain hike starts at the Escholzmatt (LU) train station parking lot (charges apply). The parking fee can only be paid via the SBB P+Rail app or if you have an SBB parking card.

The Beichlen rises between Emmental and Entlebuch, and once again it shows that even a little-known peak below the 2000m mark offers great panoramas.

Everything is required here: fitness, coordination, sure-footedness and a head for heights, as well as alpine experience are required. The paths are not optimal in the current season, especially in the upper area. There is still snow and you can't see what's underneath. It would be an advantage to go with snowshoes in some places. I would recommend hiking poles, especially when descending.

When you arrive at the summit cross, you can still sign in the logbook. The view up here is a real dream. You can see the Alps so close. The all-round visibility exceeds all expectations. You can look from Titlis to Pilatus and further to the Bernese High Alps. Simply breathtaking, and every step is worth the reward.

In the upper area there are various barbecue areas where you can definitely take a break.

Highlights I felt:
- Pure nature
- Fantastic view of the Alps and also down to Escholzmatt

Important: I would like to thank the community of Escholzmatt from the bottom of my heart. The entire tour is wonderfully marked, really exemplary. Thank you!

FYI: Difficult mountain hike
Difficulty level: T3 (mountain hiking)
