View of Reichenberg Castle

Highlight • Viewpoint

Reichenberg Castle is the best preserved Romanesque castle in the Rems-Murr district.

The history of the castle is multifaceted: built as an Amtmannenburg, it passed into Württemberg hands around 1300. For 380 years it housed the Reichenberg ducal forest office and for 120 years diaconal institutions. As early as 1888, Reichenberg Castle was transferred to the Samaritan Foundation. In 1930 the castle was leased to the Evangelical Society of Stuttgart. The current owner of the castle is the state of Baden-Württemberg. Since 2007, Paulinenpflege Winnenden e. V. a home for businesses in which people with disabilities and mental illness are cared for.

Castle tours are no longer possible for the foreseeable future due to the "Corona crisis" !!!

Fischbach Valley

Highlight • Gorge

The Fischbach is formed on the eastern municipal border of Spiegelberg and Großerlach by the inflow of the 1.1 km long left stream from the (lower) Mohrklinge into the Schlatbach, which is 1.9 km long upstream and has the largest catchment area. It then flows for about 6 km through the incised valley to Sulzbach, where it flows into the Murr. The whole valley is PURE NATURE and is easy to cycle through (even uphill). From the Murrtal to Oberfischbach it is about 240 meters above sea level over 7.5 km.

Once you've come out of the valley, you've already completed the longest climb. It's definitely worth taking a look back.
All you have to do on the way down is slow down!
