The last town before starting the climb to the Col de la Bonette. There are several places to fill. bottles of water and even food if needed. Also, it is a good stopover after climbing the Col de la Bonette.

Barcelonnette

Highlight • Settlement

Barcelonnette is the capital of the Ubaye valley. We breathe in its streets like a perfume of the south of France which is already announced. It is a very pleasant city.

Faucon-de-Barcelonnette

Highlight • Other

Faucon-de-Barcelonnette has only a few hundred inhabitants and is picturesquely situated in the Ubaye valley. The clock tower, the Trinitarian church and the Saint-Etienne church, which was first mentioned in the 11th century, are worth seeing.

A loop concocted with komoot to test the forest tracks with the rigid bike. It climbs badly but the slopes are rather very pleasant. A few hundred meters of trail, good for gravel too. I had hesitated to take the mountain bike… well, there is no picture for rolling, the gravel is infinitely superior!
