Bithia, once immortalized by great scholars such as Pliny the Elder and Claudius Ptolemy, stood proudly on the southern coast of Sardinia, where the waves of the sea now crash against the remains of this once mighty Phoenician city. The city was located at the mouth of the Riu di Chia for more than a millennium until it met its silent end in the 5th century.
