Panorama Trail Wicker–Weilbach

The name really says it all! Great views from here of the Frankfurt skyline, the Rhine-Main plain, the Odenwald ... and a wonderful meadow trail.

Flörsheimer Watchtower

Highlight • Viewpoint

The approximately 18 km long "Upper Rheingau Wine Experience Trail" from Massenheim via Wicker, Flörsheim, Hochheim to Mainz-Kostheim leads to particularly recommended viewpoints in the wine region around Hochheim...
such as here to the Flörsheimer Warte - a great, recommendable location!

Ginsheim Rhine Ship Mill

Highlight • Monument

An authentic reconstruction of the last productive Rhine ship mill offers interesting and fascinating insights into the technology and working conditions of bygone times. Unfortunately, it can only be visited by appointment by phone or through the tourist information office.

In Ginsheim, ship mills were anchored in the Rhine for several centuries, and milling was a veritable industry.

Pity for this wonderful place. It must have been white many years ago, now it is gray and stained, and since the 1970s, the municipality of Nauheim has warned against salmonella and coliform bacteria in the water. "

Open 24/7 and always a highlight (day and night). In winter, you can spot the de-icing here; otherwise, you can spot landings and takeoffs on the west runway. For spotting (with a camera), I recommend following the path (after the barrier), as you'll be standing at a slightly higher elevation and won't have the fence in your view.

The open space design of the Main foreland is the result of a competition won in 2011. Thanks to the sensitive approach to the history and topography of the site, the redesign of the Main foreland has become a key project for the city of Kelsterbach, highlighting the unique location on the Main River with the steep slope behind it, improving the quality of local recreational areas, and simultaneously connecting the city to the regional park route. Large-scale measures, such as a new, barrier-free access from the residential area at the Enka site or the upgrading of the confluence of the Kelster and Main Rivers, were complemented by specific measures. In addition to the optimized cycle path connection, existing historic buildings were carefully integrated, and the public space was enhanced with striking squares. For example, a new square was created at the confluence of the Kelster and Main Rivers in 2015, with a seating area along the river. The transition from Graf-de-Chardonnet-Platz to the riverbank is via the "Mainblick" square, which leads directly to the Mainstrand beach and Leinepfad (Leine path), with a walkway and steps at the former bastion providing access to the Main. Approximately 100 meters further, at the harbor, an illuminated walkway and steps lead from the bastion over a height difference of 14 meters into the Mainhöhe residential area.
