Castellterçol

Highlight • Settlement

Castellterçol is a municipality in Catalonia, Spain. It is located in the province of Barcelona, in the Moyanés region. Until 2015 it belonged to Vallés Oriental. Its judicial party is Granollers.

The population was traditionally dedicated to the trade of weaving, activities that have recently become textile companies. At the end of the 18th century, the wool industry was very important, with more activity than Sabadell and Tarrasa. Today the textile industry is important with the manufacture of polyester and cotton fabrics and dyes for the cotton industry, which employ a good number of workers. Agriculture (cereals, potatoes, legumes, fodder,...) and livestock (cattle, sheep and pigs) are also very important. The latter gives rise to the manufacture of typical sausages (blood pudding, sausages...)

As important places we can highlight the Prat de la Riba museum, which was the house of Enric Prat de la Riba and the castle of Castellterçol.
