This cycle path runs along the old railway line between Madrid and Almorox, built in the 19th century for the transport of passengers and goods, mainly vegetables, from Toledo to Madrid.

In the 1950s and 1960s it was very crowded in summer as the people of Madrid used it to go and enjoy bathing in the waters of the Guadarrama and Alberche rivers. The train was closed in 1970, but today the infrastructure is used by cyclists to reach the regional park of the middle course of the Guadarrama River from Móstoles, circulating between cereal fields.
