Jubilee Tower on Moel Famau

Moel Famau affords spectacular views across the Vale of Clwyd to Snowdonia in the west and the English border in the east. Crowning the summit is the Grade II-listed remains of Jubilee Tower, which was built to commemorate the golden jubilee of George III in 1810. Moel Famau is the highest hill within the Clwydian Range.

Very beautiful & easy walk through trees from Loggerheads Country Park alongside the river, with a wide, easy access wooden bridge accross the river.

River Alyn Ford and Footbridge

Highlight • Bridge

Alternative route up to Moel Famau from the east. Difficult descent down to river - narrow single track tarmac with potholes and gravel with descending grades up to 15%.

Footbridge access difficult with bike as concrete kerb steps missing. Ford concrete road - water depth varies with rainfall and season.

Ascent on the other side up a 9% grade concrete road serving the sewage works ending up at the junction by a farmyard.

Devil's Gorge Cave Entrance

Go across the bridge above the cave and continue keeping to the left of the path. when you reach metal post about 2 mins after the bridge, do a u-turn and carry on going down. At the bottom turn left again and you'll arrive by the entrance to the cave.
