Highlight • Viewpoint

I think the highlight creator wanted to place the bench somewhere else. ;) There is none here, but the view is still great!

Unfortunately, nature conservation is not of primary importance for the Seehotel, but the surroundings are beautiful and home to an extremely diverse flora and fauna.

Eifa Railway Viaduct Ruins

Highlight • Bridge

This viaduct is located on the Alsfeld-Niederjossa railway line of the Grundy Railway. The Grebenau-Alsfeld section via Eifa was opened on April 1, 1916. The viaduct should have been completed by 1916 at the latest. Passenger traffic has been suspended since May 25, 1974, freight traffic between Alsfeld and Eifa continued until May 28, 1988. This viaduct has therefore not been used since 1988. There are still tracks on the viaduct. Both entrances to the viaduct have been closed since 1999 due to a suicide, but with a little courage and sportiness there is a way to get onto the bridge at the southern end. The viaduct is now a listed building.
