Spain's first electrified railway line ran through the canyon from 1911 to 1955. Today, you can walk through the canyon along the old route and through the two tunnels. We made the outward journey "over the hills"—even in the evening sun, it was still strenuous. On the other hand, the birdlife was high... some first-time sightings :-)
