Cat hump tower

Highlight • Viewpoint

Well-preserved tower that can be climbed. The ascent is quite narrow and offers some viewing windows. At the top, a beautiful panoramic view of the Odenwald awaits you. There is enough space for several people.

Zwingenberg Castle

Highlight • Castle

Beautiful castle located just above the Neckar - unfortunately, the castle is privately owned and therefore not easy to visit. Directly behind the castle begins the Wolfsschlucht.

Wolf's Gorge

Highlight • Gorge

The famous “Wolfsschlucht” (lower entrance) begins here, right next to Zwingenberg Castle.
My tip: leave your bike behind and explore the wildly romantic gorge on foot!

Very nice pre-Christmas Sunday tour in freezing temperatures! Wolfschlucht is easy to walk on if you have the appropriate footwear and are sure-footed! Two beautiful castle ruins and an old ski jump crowned by a small mountain.

Steadily uphill we then reach the Katzenbuckel, the highest elevation in the Odenwald. The 89 steps up the tower are rewarded with a magnificent …

The trail starts off steeply, passing Zwingenberg Castle and up through the Wolfsschlucht Gorge. Very cool 😎🥰

The trail continued on, alternating between narrow and wide paths, and there was a place to stop for a break just before the summit 😎🍰 Other sights just before the summit: Katzenbuckelsee …
