From the monastery in Bad Herrenalb, the trail first went through the spa gardens. The Graf Rhena Weg led us past the border house and two cannonballs commemorating the Napoleonic Wars, to Frauenalb Monastery. Then we hiked along the monastery path to Bad Herrenalb.

There we also visited the Herrenalb monastery ruins, but they are nowhere near as spectacular as those in Frauenalb or Karlsbad Langensteinbach.
