West Beach, Darß

Highlight • Beach

During our holiday in 2008, this original and unspoiled beach had us immediately excited. Due to its exposed location, it is not so crowded and you always find a nice lonely place, if you walk along the beach.

In sunny weather we enjoyed the long walk on the beach on the west beach and in the Darßer jungle.

The Drei Eichen parking lot was very muddy and is subject to a charge.

The west beach is over 10km long and is pure nature here. You can also find windbreaks here. Trees that have been bent by the wind. I only walked a …

Today we went from the forest out into the open dune landscape to the Baltic Sea.
The path led through sandy sections, past wind-shaped trees and always with a view of the sea.

Arriving at Weststrand, it became wide and quiet – only the sound of the waves and the wind in the dunes.
A tour where you just walk, …

Nice tour up the west beach and back through the cool forest... But the beach isn't really like the pictures anymore, at least not during the holiday season. Beach shell after beach shell in a nature reserve

Since the weather forecast promised brighter skies for today, I decided to head out again to the lonely and wild west beach.

This time, the starting point was the Drei Eichen hiking car park in the Darß Forest.

Upon arrival at the beach, I was greeted by lake fog, whipped ashore in thick clouds by the wind. This created a …
