Around a two-tiered hall house from 1653 are grouped historic half-timbered buildings, as they were typical of the southern Lüneburg Heath: barns, stables and staircase storage. They show the peasant life and economies in earlier centuries. A bakery reconstructed from old materials delivers bread, fresh airs and butter cake twice a year.

In the former coach house, the museum shop and the cash register are housed, the spinning and weaving circle meets here to work together, and in front of the entrance is the small garden with dye plants.

The Kalandstube in 1781 houses the Kalandstube, a café and restaurant serving regional specialties. On the extensive grounds with the draw wells and the apiary old apple trees are cultivated, and a herb garden completes the plant.
