Kerne Bridge over the River Wye

Highlight • Viewpoint

Quite a local landmark hereabouts, especially if you are on the river. An ancient crossing point that has been about in one way or another since roman times. An important bridge connection on the Wye that at one stage was tolled. Failure to pay the toll made you liable to a £5 fine. Some things have never changed!

Symonds Yat East

Highlight • River

Sitting on the Peregrine Path below the infamous Symonds Yat Rock, Symonds Yat East is a lovely quiet hamlet on the Wye with a couple of good pubs to take a pitstop.

Be sure to sample one of the Wye Valley Brewery's beers. Butty is a great choice.

If you are familiar with the popular Netflix show Sex Education, the main house is located slightly up the hill from the village.

Scenic river with a hand pulled passenger ferry across to the other side (not sure if you can take bikes on it). Cafes and pubs to sit and enjoy the view and a campsite on the road leading down.

There's a very gentle incline here following the family trail, along the nice and wide cycleway.
